Carrie Underwood Personality & Talent
When she was a contestant on American Idol in 2005, Carrie Underwood was asked what her definition of an American Idol was. She replied, "Someone who is nice, talented and deserves it." By this, her own definition, Carrie is the ideal Idol: gracious and family-oriented, but still independent and self-reliant. "I'm not going to let other people do [things] for me," she has stated, "and I think that's a big part of where I came from. I'm not a real prissy girl."
And let's not forget Carrie's talent. She bowled over Simon Cowell, an Idol judge not known for coddling contestants, and her release of the singles "Inside Your Heaven" and "Independence Day" have garnered her praise for her strong, powerful voice. While her charisma still seems to be developing on these recordings, she has the potential to become a lasting star if she stays true to the country music she loves.
