Carrie Underwood - Carnival Ride, new cd Carrie Underwood became the fourth American Idol winner in May of 2005, then released a new single, "Inside Your Heaven," which went straight to No. 1. She has an album in the works, due out in November of 2005.

Carrie Underwood Receives Two Grammys Sunday Night

Nominated for four Grammys, Carrie Underwood brings home two.

Carrie Underwood proved that she is capable of accomplishments greater than American Idol, when she brought home her first two Grammys, Sunday night. This 23-year-old, small town girl, hailing from Oklaholma, definitely has a lot to be proud of this year. She was nominated for four different Grammys and took home two of the four, Sunday night.

She triumphed over her competition, Chris Brown, and singers James Blunt, Imogen Heap and Corinne Bailey Rae, proudly claiming her Grammy for Best New Artist. She also received the Grammy for Best Country Song with her first single, “Jesus Take the Wheel,” off of her album, Some Hearts, which is still topping the Billboard Charts.

Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson are the only two American Idol winners to have won Grammys. Kelly took two Grammys home with her in 2006, for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for “Since U Been Gone,” and another for the Best Pop Vocal Album – Breakaway.
